GEODESIC SPHERE

Since 1975 my vision of a human habitat has the form of a geodesic sphere. A human habitat that is mass producible yet fully customizable during its initial manufacture, it can be infinitely altered and accessorized after its on site installation, it is self contained, doesn’t require a foundation and can be moved whole or disassembled to a different location. A human habitat that is suited to be placed on land and water and will excel in severe weather, earthquake, fire and flood prone geography, remote or difficult to access locations, harsh environments and extreme climates. Due to its portability, ease and speed of assembly (a matter of a few days), it is ideally suited as a replacement for buildings destroyed by natural and human created disasters.
The
current design/prototype of a human habitat in the form of a geodesic sphere is based on the concept of the sphere of OZ and it is executed in a fashion that is fundamental and clear. It has all the essential components and as a whole it comprehensively demonstrates the extent and the potential of the concept. A human habitat where every part has a purpose and is aesthetically contributing. A human habitat that is conceived and designed to evolve with and adapt to its inhabitants, technological progress, environmental and climate changes.
It is alive.
